How a Little Pinterest Magic Made a Big Difference for Downey

When I started working with Downey (a luxury printing press creating beautiful invitations, their online presence didn’t quite reflect the level of artistry happening. Pinterest, with its visual-first nature and love for design, felt like the perfect place to show it off.

The Challenge:

Downey’s work was stunning, but it wasn’t being seen by enough of the right people. Luxury brands, design agencies and wedding planners often search visually for inspiration, and Pinterest is where they spend their time. The goal was simple: turn Downey’s beautiful portfolio into a discoverable, searchable and shareable showcase.

The Pinterest Plan:

  • Build a beautiful profile: We reimagined Downey’s Pinterest profile to feel cohesive, elegant and unmistakably Downey. Clean branding, keyword rich descriptions and a touch of luxury, just like their print work

  • Curating boards that tell a story: Each Pinterest board became it's own little gallery:

  • Luxury invitations & stationery

  • Bespoke packaging

  • Foil and embossed finishes

These mirrored their website’s services, making it easier for people to explore specific areas of expertise.

Pinning with Purpose:

We handpicked their best visuals, close-ups of texture, glimmers of gold, layers of embossing and created vertical Pinterest-friendly pins. Each one linked directly back to the Downey website, turning every save and click into a potential client visit.

Getting Found:

Pinterest works like a visual search engine, so we researched and added key search terms such as:

  • Luxury printing London

  • Foil embossed invitations

  • Bespoke packaging design UK

The results:

In just a few months, Downey’s Pinterest presence went from quiet to thriving. Their pins started appearing in search results and we were able to introduce their brand to completely new audiences. Even better, they began receiving more inbound enquiries from clients who first discovered them on Pinterest!

The Takeaway:

Pinterest ins’t just for DIY inpo boards, it’s a powerful tool for creatives and luxury brands who have something beautiful to show.
